David Tibet, John Balance de Coil and Fritz Haaman from 23Skidoo founded Current 93 in 1982. However, as soon as their first 12" was published, the group became the personal project of David Tibet and Balance and Haaman chose to devote their time to their own bands. The years went by and Current 93 continued to work as an ever-changing number of collaborators with Tibet. The 25 years of the group's career have included the participation on stage or in the recording studio of artistes of the stature of Cosey Fanni Tutti and Chris Carter (from Throbbing Gristle and Carter-Tutti), Michael Cashmore (Nature & Organisation), Joolie Wood, Björk, Steve Ignorant (Crass), Nick Cave, Rose McDowall (Strawberry Switchblade), Tiny Tim, Björk, Shirley Collins, Bill Fay, Andrew W.K. and Rickie Lee Jones.

Of ruine or some blazing starre.

In 1986, after a stay in Nepal, Current 93 recorded its first concept album (In menstrual night) on the moon, menstruation and Jesus Christ. Tibet then christened the band's experimental, acid style as "apocalyptic folk". He was soon to create his own label (Durtro), after which it became easier to publish his work. Interestingly, the first records published by the new label were organic and acoustic: Thunder perfect mind and Of ruine or some blazing starre. Then, the meeting with Michael Cashmore, one of the most talented and influential contemporary guitarists, gave rise to a number of amazing works of key importance in Current 93's discography.

A finais dos 90 apareceu a triloxía The Inmost Light, que inclúe Where the Long Shadows Fall, All the Pretty Little Horses e The Starres Are Marching Home, e contén as teimas e mellores letras de David Tibet, xunta a convidados de luxo como Nick Cave ou Shirley Collins.

At the end of the 1990s, the band released the trilogy The Inmost Light, which includes Where the Long Shadows Fall, All the Pretty Little Horses and The Starres Are Marching Home, and contains David Tibet's best manias and lyrics and guest artistes such as Nick Cave and Shirley Collins. From here on in, the umpteenth vanishing point. Current 93 mutated again through two masterpieces: Soft Black Stars, woven together with only voice and piano, and Sleep has his house, dedicated to Tibet's father, who provides the voice, with Michael Cashmore on the harmonium and Steven Stapleton with a variety of sounds. More personal and reflexive, these two albums moved away from cosmic surrealism and proclaimed David's preference for Christ, the artist Louis Wain, the Greek New Testament, the Coptic language and the homosexual poet and drug addict Count Stenbock.

Black ships ate the sky, which, until recently, was the latest release by this cult band, was another hit and blended together different vocal interpretations to provide a conceptual story on the return of the Antichrist and the second coming of Jesus. On what is to be its second visit to Spain, this time with the entente C93, this open and extremely liberal circle of musicians is to hold the Aleph at hallucinatory mountain edition in Santiago de Compostela over one entire weekend, anticipated as one of the least predictable and most powerful works. Tibet will be joined onstage by James Blackshaw, Baby Dee, Andrew Liles, Keith Wood and Alex Neilson. It is indeed a privilege to have them here.
